How to Have a Bridgerton-Inspired Wedding

Chandelier and Floral Reception Install

DEAREST GENTLE READER

How to Have a Bridgerton-Inspired Wedding

The social season is upon us, and after the major success of the latest Netflix series, Bridgerton, the Regency era is catching many newly-engaged eyes. From florals to fashion, embrace the elegance and romance of this most exquisite trending style that will take you back to the 1800s.

Don’t stop at a string quartet and crystal chandeliers when there’s so much more to it. A Bridgerton-inspired wedding is all about regal romance, lavish details, and timeless sophistication.

Read on, gentle reader, as we spill the tea for the must-have Bridergton wedding details. Here’s how to plan your own regency-inspired celebration fit for a Duke and Duchess.

1.SET THE SCENE

First things first, select a venue that exudes the grandeur of the Regency era. Think stately homes, historic mansions, or ornate ballrooms with towering ceilings and intricate architecture. Gardens adorned with lush florals and fountains can also provide the perfect backdrop for your Bridgerton-inspired affair. The Estate at Cherokee Dock would be the perfect spot.

2.EMBRACE REGAL FLORALS

One must simply possess only the fullest and brightest of florals for their extravagant wedding day. Flowers are a crucial element of any Bridgerton-inspired wedding. Opt for lush arrangements of garden roses, peonies, hydrangeas, and cascading greenery in soft pastel shades such as blush pink, lavender, and ivory. Go all white like Daphne and Simon, or play with the soft pastels and pops of Regency blue or yellow like Penelope’s usual attire.

Sarah and Joseph incorporated the beloved romantic look with colorful blooms by the Florista hung above their reception and ceremony space.

3.LET THEM EAT CAKE

A cake for royalty would consist of multiple tiers covered in textured white icing and extravagant floral details. To take it an extra step further, think vintage-inspired piping, fluffy frosting borders, gold leaf, and sugar petals on your multi-tiered confection.

And don’t forget the necessity of a feasting table complete with miniature desserts like French macarons to complete the Bridgerton tea party aesthetic.

4.DRESS THE PART

If you want to be the diamond of the season, then you must take on the utmost sophistication and elegant style.

The empire waist silhouette grew in popularity at the end of the 18th century and can be seen all over the ladies of Bridgerton. However, if this does not suit your bridal style, you can still achieve the look with puff sleeves and classic pointed toe flats.  Don’t forget the delicate gloves to complete the look.

Talor looked exquisite with her full updo, silk gloves and a refined bow to top off her polished Bridgerton bridal style.

Grooms can embrace the dashing charm of the Duke of Hastings with a tailored suit in a rich hue, paired with a crisp white shirt, waistcoat, and perhaps a pocket watch for added flair.

5.THE FINER DETAILS

Attention to detail is key when planning a Bridgerton-inspired wedding. Think ornate candelabras adorned with dripping candles, vintage-inspired tableware, and delicate lace linens.

Brass candlesticks are one of the best ways to bring in those Regency era vibes as they were the most commonly used candle holders during that time, and pairing them with simple glass hurricane vases and votives creates a stunning tablescape.

Incorporate nods to the Regency era with calligraphy and wax seals on invitations and signage. Deysi and Michael's gold-framed mirror welcomed guests into their wedding day with handwritten lettering by White Ink Calligraphy, similar to Susie and Connar’s escort cards on individual bud vases.

6.TOAST TO THE HAPPY COUPLE

Is there anything more lavish and decadent than champagne? We don’t think so. Dainty crystal glassware full of rich bubbly will make for a night of dramatic toasts worthy of Lady Whistledown.

Emily and Tyler took it a step further with their boxwood champagne wall lined with flutes for their trend-setting spring wedding day.

A Bridgerton-inspired wedding is a celebration of love, romance, and timeless elegance. By incorporating these elements into your special day, you can create an affair that transports you and your guests to the enchanting world of Regency-era London. So, embrace the romance, indulge in the opulence, and prepare for a wedding day that is truly fit for royalty.
