MY HOUSE OF STONE, YOUR IVY GROWS

How to Have a Folklore-Inspired Wedding

Planning a wedding inspired by one of Taylor Swift’s eras is a unique and fun way to celebrate your love for her music and style. Ethereal and whimsical, Taylor’s Folklore and Evermore era is characterized by earth tones, cottagecore style, and woodland fairy vibes. Drawing inspiration from the dreamy woodland aesthetic, poetic storytelling, and stripped-down melodies of Folklore, you can create an unforgettable wedding that exudes intimacy and romance. For all the Folklore stans, here’s our take on how to have a Folklore-inspired wedding.

1. STYLE

The Folklore era is all about embracing simplicity and natural beauty. Opt for a wedding gown that exudes a bohemian and romantic vibe, perhaps featuring delicate lace or flowing chiffon. For the groom, consider a more relaxed and laid-back outfit, like a tailored tweed suit paired with a casual tie or bowtie. Accessorize with woodland-inspired touches, such as flower crowns, leaf motifs, or ethereal headpieces. For the outerwear, we suggest a cardigan of course! Wear your Folklore cardigan or have fun and personalize your own with custom patches. Here are some of our top picks.

2. DECOR

Embrace whimsical decor that complements the Folklore and Evermore eras. Incorporate elements like fairy lights, soft draping, and vintage furniture to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Use natural elements like wildflowers, ferns, and moss to bring the outdoor feel indoors, and don’t forget to add touches of muted earthy tones and soft neutrals in your decor.

For day-of signage, use antique frames and mirrors with hand-lettered messages guiding your guests through the celebration. Incorporate quotes from Taylor Swift’s songs to set the tone and infuse your wedding with a poetic touch. Mirror balls can be incorporated on the dance floor or used as a focal point during the ceremony.

3. MUSIC

Incorporate acoustic versions of her songs or live performances for an intimate and emotional ambiance. If possible, hire a folk band or acoustic musicians to play during your ceremony or reception to add an extra layer of authenticity. For ideas, check out our Eras-Inspired Wedding playlist on Spotify.

4. WEDDING FAVORS

Thank your guests with personalized wedding favors inspired by Folklore. Offer small potted plants, seeds, or wildflower kits, symbolizing the growth and blooming of your love. Include a handwritten note expressing your gratitude for being a part of your love story.

You Asked, We Answered

WEDDING PLANNING FAQ

Wedding planning can be stressful, trust us, we know— and we’re professionals! So no matter how simple or complex, there can be a million questions running through your mind, and we want to answer them.

We’ve listed out a few of our most commonly-asked questions about wedding planning below, from the average timeline from engagement to walking down the aisle, to how to personalize your day. Scroll on to see if we’ve answered any of the questions you’ve wanted to ask. Rest assured, you’re not the only one!

1. HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I START PLANNING MY WEDDING?

It depends on the length of your engagement, but the average timeline can range anywhere from 12 to 18 months. Every wedding has uniquely different details, and the amount of time to plan varies on those details. One year is the sweet spot and provides ample time to plan, but at Infinity, we can plan an amazing wedding in any amount of time.

It’s important to begin planning as soon as you have your venue booked! The sooner you get a start on planning, the better chances you have to lock in the rest of your dream vendors.

2. WHAT WEDDING VENDORS DO I BOOK FIRST?

We recommend focusing on your photographer and entertainment first, then consider the rest. Once you find someone you like, lock them in as these particular vendors will only take one event a day.

3. HOW DO I KNOW MY WEDDING STYLE?

Discovering your wedding style is an exciting part of the wedding planning process! Check out our step-by-step guide to help you identify and define your wedding style.

4. HOW CAN I MAKE MY WEDDING UNIQUE AND SPECIAL?

There are a lot of different ways you can incorporate your unique love story into your wedding day, whether it’s with a custom catering menu, a unique guest book, cultural traditions, or by including fun activities. The key to personalization is incorporating elements that reflect your relationship and the things you both love. One of our couples met while playing beer pong, so we actually set up a beer pong table for their reception in honor of their meet-cute.

Another way to cater to your personality on your wedding day is to break away from classic wedding traditions if they don’t speak to you or your partner. That may be choosing an alternative to the traditional guest book that speaks more to who you are as a couple, like an audio guest book. There’s something so special about being able to listen back to what your guests had to say on your wedding day. Find more ideas on how to put your own spin on traditions.

Working in venues that offer numerous levels or multiple spaces, like The Bridge Building, The Bell Tower, and The Estate at Cherokee Dock, provides room for a lot of creativity and maximizes the experience. Keeping your guests moving from one location to another on the same property keeps them entertained while also showcasing your personality and style throughout the different environments. Around one corner could be lounge furniture to give guests a place to have a good conversation, in another corner there’s a dessert bar with your favorite sweets, and in another a photo booth or cigar rolling station.

5. WILL I BE ABLE TO COME AND SEE EXAMPLES OF THE DESIGN IN PERSON?

At Infinity, yes, you will be able to see examples of tablescape designs! We work closely with our vendor partners and have many samples of china, flatware, glassware, paper products, linens, chairs and decor to create mockups. Many florists can also provide a mockup centerpiece for a fee if you want to see that in person as well.

We also use a floor planning software called Merri. Your event planning team will create custom plans to help you visualize your entire event using 3D models of furniture, decor, flowers, and more, all within renderings of your specific venue. This 3D visualization platform was made for event planning to make you feel confident that your vision will actually come to life.

6. WHEN DO I SEND OUT WEDDING INVITATIONS AND SAVE-THE-DATES?

When focusing on the smaller details of your engagement timeline, keep in mind your save-the-dates, invitations, and the RSVP deadline. Save-the-dates should go out 8-12 months before your wedding date depending on the majority of traveling guests, 6-8 weeks for the official invitations, and the RSVP deadline should be 30-40 days before the wedding.

7. WHAT ARE SOME THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN PLANNING A DESTINATION WEDDING?

Planning a destination wedding can be an exciting experience, but it requires careful consideration and organization. Some of things you’ll want to keep in mind are travel and accommodations for your guests. We connect all of our clients with a hotel room block service, who assist with overnight accommodations at hotels for guests.

Next up is transportation. Consider the logistics of transporting your guests seamlessly from the ceremony venue to the reception and then back to their accommodations as the evening concludes. This encompasses services like valet, a dedicated getaway car, or even shuttle arrangements. Undoubtedly, transportation is a pivotal component in planning a destination wedding. Our team presents a variety of options, empowering you to select the ones that align perfectly with your vision for this momentous day.

Considering your guests are going to be traveling in for a destination wedding, we recommend being open to a Friday or Sunday wedding date to give you and your guests the ability to maximize your weekend. Enhance their stay with thoughtful touches, such as a curated list of recommendations accessible via your wedding website or thoughtfully compiled within a welcome package awaiting them in their hotel rooms. You can even plan activities and excursions for your guests to enjoy during their stay.

I’d Marry You with Paper Rings

HOW TO HAVE A LOVER-INSPIRED WEDDING

Having a wedding inspired by one of Taylor Swift’s eras can be a unique and fun way to celebrate your love for her music and style. In honor of her Eras Tour, we’re highlighting some of our favorites and how to incorporate them into your wedding day.

Dreamy, romantic, and fun, Taylor’s Lover era is characterized by vibrant colors and sparkle. For all the Lover stans, here’s our take on how to have a Lover-inspired wedding.

1. STYLE

Each era has its own unique color palette. The Lover era is so distinctive, we say ditch the traditional white and embrace color for your wedding weekend style. Here are some of our top picks.

Infinity Pro Tip: Discuss the shot list with your photographer and make sure they know you want every outfit change captured. Assign a wedding party member or a friend to ensure you get every shot you want. They’ll bring you your heart-shaped sunglasses, make sure you have your silly straw while getting ready, and ensure you and your photographer step out during the reception for a mini-session in your reception dress.

2. DECOR

The “Lover” era is all about romance, color, and whimsy. Incorporate these elements into your wedding decor with fairy lights and flowers to create a magical and enchanting atmosphere. Opt for abundant and colorful floral arrangements. Our couple Sarah + Joseph let their colorful florals speak for themselves and paired them with all-white linens. For more color, think about adding colored napkins, china, or glassware.

Photos by Rebecca MusayevAustin Gros, & Ashton Brooke. Florals by Marigo FlowersKnestrick by Design, & The Florista.

Add some sparkle with disco balls on the dance floor, fairy lights or twinkle lights during dinner, and sequined linens on your cake or sweetheart tables. Metallic tinsel fringe can also be used to dress up the bar or for a photo booth backdrop.

3. MUSIC

What would an eras-inspired wedding be without a playlist full of Taylor Swift hits? Just because you’re drawing decor and style inspiration from a single era, don’t feel like you have to stick to one album for your playlist. Choose songs based on what resonates with you and your partner the most. You can also include covers or acoustic versions for a unique twist. Here are some of our Lover-era picks:

  1. Walk down the aisle to an instrumental version of “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince.”
  2. Dance down the aisle with your partner by your side to “Paper Rings.”
  3. Make a grand entrance into your reception with “ME!”
  4. Take your first spin as a married couple to “Lover” for your first dance.

Your playlist isn’t the only way to incorporate some of your favorite Lover lyrics. Lyrics can be incorporated throughout the reception. Our couple Sarah + Patrick incorporated them with a neon sign hanging on their photo booth backdrop while Anna Lee + Justin included lyrics at each table.

Remember, the key is to have fun and infuse your wedding with elements that represent your love for Taylor Swift’s music and style so personalize the details to make the day uniquely yours. Stay tuned for more eras-inspired wedding ideas.

7 Alternative Wedding Ceremony Ideas https://infinityhospitalitygroup.com/7-alternative-wedding-ceremony-ideas/ Thu, 18 Aug 2022 22:19:51 +0000 https://infinityhospitalitygroup.com/?p=31835 Take a look at our seven favorite alternative wedding ceremony ideas to change things up.

SOMETHING NEW

Our Favorite Alternative Wedding Ceremony Ideas

Your ceremony is one of the most intimate moments on your wedding day. Although it may not feel like it with 50-250 of your closest friends and family watching, it is the moment that you get to say “I do” to your person for life.

Now don’t get us wrong, we love a traditional ceremony, but your wedding should always embody you as a couple, so finding ways to personalize this moment is a necessary part of the planning process! We’ve listed seven of our favorite alternative ceremony ideas, from sizing down your ceremony guest list to literally tying a knot.

Keep scrolling to find out more.

1.SMALL CEREMONY, BIG RECEPTION

If you are stuck between having a micro wedding to keep things intimate or a major party with all your loved ones, consider opting for two separate guest lists. This way, you can create a much smaller ceremony with your VIPs to make it extra special, and then celebrate with everyone in the evening for the reception party of your dreams!

It’s your special day, so give yourself the best of both worlds.

2.NON-TRADITIONAL OFFICIANT

We’re here for family or friends officiating the big day. This is an easy way to give your ceremony that extra special touch. Maybe an aunt, the person who introduced you two, or even a best friend—as long as they are ready and willing to take on the responsibility of the officiant’s duties.

But make sure it’s legal, eagle! To be legally married in the state of Tennessee, your officiant must be a religious official or certain government official. So double check the details to ensure you’re following the right steps to make it official before you pop the champagne. Our suggestion? Have a separate, small ceremony with an authorized official prior to the big day.

3.PERSONALIZED UNITY CEREMONIES

Have fun with the unity ceremony and put your own spin on the tradition. While many unity ceremonies have religious origins — from lighting a candle to pouring out sand — they are easily adaptable if you want to incorporate one into a secular ceremony.

Brittany and Brandon put their own spin on the traditional unity candle ceremony by including all of their guests, too. Once the couple lights their own candles, they each light someone’s in the front aisle. Each guest then passes the flame down the row. We love how this includes every guest in the ceremony.

Photography by Ali Bonomo

Are you a proud plant parent? Pot a plant with your soil-mate! Similar to a candle or sand ceremony, the couple pots a plant or tree together by each pouring their own soil to symbolize their union. Then they take the plant home and watch the it grow alongside their relationship. If opting for a tree, use a pot for the ceremony and plant in the ground once you’ve settled into your forever home.

There are a ton of other ways you can put your own twist on this timeless tradition. For the art lovers, pour paint on a canvas. For the wine lovers, pour wine and create your own blend. Science enthusiasts? Create a wedding-safe chemical reaction in a beaker.

Get creative! The options are endless.

4.NON-TRADITIONAL WEDDING VOWS

Traditional wedding vows can be traced back to 1549 in Thomas Cranmer’s The Book of Common Prayer and are still used todayAlthough the meaning behind the original words stands true, you might be looking for a more secular alternative or just some ideas on how to customize traditional vows to better suit you and your partner.

Writing your own vows entirely can take the intimacy of your ceremony to the next level and will often bring lots of tears and laughter. If you aren’t sure where to start, find inspiration in your favorite movie or tv show. Grey’s Anatomy, Corpse Bride, and Wedding Crashers are just a few examples of personalized alternatives to the traditional “to have and to hold.” Books, music, and poems are also great sources of inspiration.

If you’re overwhelmed by the idea of writing your own vows, that’s okay! Give someone special the honor of writing them.

5.WINE CEREMONY

This uncommon ceremony alternative might be one of our favorites! A wine box ceremony is a ritual in which a bottle of wine is enclosed in a box during the ceremony, so that it can be opened by the couple at a later date.

Some couples may want to include love letters or other personal reminders from the wedding day to add that extra special touch.

6.CEREMONY MUSIC

Music is one of our favorite ways to personalize a ceremony. This is Music City after all! Do you and your partner share a favorite band? What about the first show you ever went to together? There are a multitude of reasons you could choose to incorporate certain songs into your ceremony.

You can also have the best of both worlds. Keep the processional classic and end the ceremony with a killer song choice that will have guests ready for the reception. Some unique recessional songs from our real couples include the Star Wars Throne Room theme song, “Grove St. Party” by Waka Flocka Flame, and “Miracles Happen” by Mya from the Princess Diaries.

7.WALKING DOWN THE AISLE

Have your ceremony your way, starting from the very beginning. Along with the music, you can personalize who walks down the aisle and how! One of our favorite alternatives to tradition is letting every individual have their moment to shine instead of the wedding party entering in gendered pairs.

When it’s time for you to walk down the aisle, you also have options. Maybe you don’t have a father figure or you’re uncomfortable being given away by one, consider walking down the aisle with both parents, a mother figure, going solo, or walking down with a group of loved ones.

Top Considerations for Planning Your Perfect Summer Wedding https://infinityhospitalitygroup.com/things-to-consider-while-planning-a-summer-wedding/ Mon, 23 May 2022 02:00:03 +0000 https://infinityhospitalitygroup.com/?p=31160 From choosing a seasonal menu to planning for the heat, here are 5 things you need to know for a summer wedding.

The post Top Considerations for Planning Your Perfect Summer Wedding appeared first on Infinity Hospitality.

CAN YOU TAKE THE HEAT?

WHAT TO CONSIDER FOR A SUMMER WEDDING

Summertime is known as a peak wedding season—and with good reason! Considering the warmer weather, lots of sunshine, and blooming flowers, we understand the hype.

But because of its popularity, it’s important to start planning early so you can lock in the best date and all of those important vendors, including the venue. However, there’s so much more to planning a summer wedding… like a theme, a dress code, and more!

So are you planning or attending a summer wedding? Then you might want to listen up! We’ve carefully curated a list of things to consider for those sunny “I dos.”

1. Consider The Time of Day

Everyone knows it’s hotter in the summer, and when you’re in the South, it can almost be too hot. So if you’re tying the knot indoors or out, consider an early morning ceremony or an evening event to avoid the middle of the day when temperatures reach their highest!

If you settle for the morning, you could have a sweet intimate ceremony with a brunch afterwards. Besides, it’s your wedding day so you should be eating cake for breakfast.

Evening weddings in the summer are always a classic. A sunset backdrop while you say your vows and a dance party under the stars couldn’t get any dreamier if you ask us.

2. Make it Fruity

Most fruit is in peak season during warmer weather, so we would definitely recommend incorporating it into your wedding day, whether it’s brought into an overall theme with decor or just for your tastebuds

Starting with cocktail hour, there’s almost nothing better than a fruity, herby drink in hand during the summer. Some of our favorite fun cocktails include a classic Aperol Spritz, red sangria, Tequila Sunrise, watermelon martini, and the list could probably go on— but you get the point!

And let’s not forget about the dessert. Mini fruit tarts, chocolate covered strawberries, or cakes dressed in blueberries and greenery sprigs are all perfect treats for that summer taste.

And if you want to incorporate it into your decor, try incorporating lemons or peaches into your centerpieces, adding lemon trees for a touch of greenery, or decorating with tangerine garlands for a bright pop of citrus.

3. Add Some Color

Can you really have a summer wedding without some color? We don’t think so!

One of our favorite summer wedding trends is incorporating lots of bright and bold colors! Vibrant florals can take your arrangements to the next level, while colorful paper goods and accented linens add that extra pop of fun to your reception table settings.

Not to mention, a wedding party dressed in floral prints or pastels always makes for a trendy yet chic look.

4. Think About Your Guests Attire

As for your guests, there’s a lot to take into consideration! If your entire wedding will be indoors, then fancier attire like black tie is more than acceptable. But if any part of your wedding is outside, consider cocktail attire or something more casual to make sure your guests are comfortable. This allows them to forgo the long dresses and heavy suit fabrics for something more breathable to have all the fun!

If you’re attending a summer wedding, don’t forget to consider your do! A subtle loose braid or pinned updo would be an elegant way to get your hair off your neck and avoid feeling too hot.

5. Keep it Cool

If your ceremony and or reception will be outside, use nature to your advantage! Look for extra shaded spots to set up your altar or to cover the dance floor. Guests will appreciate that extra block of the sun while you’re still captured in the light. And don’t forget, even if you have a tented wedding you can’t air condition the outdoors! Consider including fans in your wedding plan to keep a breeze going.

Another trick to keeping it cool is to provide personalized hand fans that could double as a program or wedding favor. And let’s not forget a drink station! Whether you have customized water bottles to keep guests hydrated or a cocktail bar to kick off the night, we promise this will make all the difference when it comes to that summer heat.

HOWDY

OUR GUIDE TO A NASHVILLE WEDDING

If you are planning a destination wedding in Nashville or have recently been invited to a wedding in Music City, buckle up!

We've carefully curated the perfect guide, from where to eat and where to wed, and we promise you'll want to write this down. Although Nashville is known for its live music and honky tonk nature, there is so much more to this Tennessee city.

So get out your planner and keep scrolling! For more ideas & advice, stay tuned each month to see what’s next.

1. WHERE TO STAY

No matter your destination, finding the perfect place to stay should be at the top of your agenda. And lucky for you, we know some good spots!

If you wish to stay in a downtown location with historic attraction, consider The Hermitage Hotel or The Union Station. These top notch spots are architectural landmarks with breathtaking designs, both inside and out.

However, if you prefer a more modern style with sophisticated design, still located downtown, then we absolutely recommend Noelle or the Omni. Noelle is located in front of the famed Printers Alley and has a secret hidden bar in the basement with seasonal themes.

The Omni is attached to the Country Music Hall of Fame with a rooftop pool, steakhouse, and bar with live music inside— and it’s located just feet away from The Bell Tower, one of our wedding venues!

And if downtown isn’t your vibe but a unique experience is, then The Graduate is calling your name. Filled with so much color and character you won’t believe your eyes. It has an on-site coffee shop, Cross-Eyed Critters karaoke bar, and Dolly Parton’s White Limozeen rooftop bar.

Tricia at Union Station
Lizzy and Clayton at The Hermitage

2. WHERE TO DINE

We understand it might be a challenge to hit all of these must-go restaurants, but you’ll want to do your best. Trust us!

You can’t come to Nashville without trying Prince's Hot Chicken Shack or a taco from Mas Tacos Por Favor, and you definitely need to grab a monkey mocha coffee from Frothy Monkey with a 100-layer donut from Five Daughters Bakery or an old fashioned pastry from Fox's Donut Den.

Not to be dramatic, but it would be a crime to miss out.

And when you’re ready to dine on some Southern comforts, make a pitstop at Martin’s BBQ, Arnold’s Country Kitchen, or the famous Loveless Cafe with biscuits to die for.

If you’re looking for an upscale dining experience, we recommend checking out Merchants on Broadway, Virago for a top-notch sushi experience, the one and only Urban Grub in 12South, or Pinewood Social for upscale bowling and cocktails.

3. WHAT TO DO

It would be a shame if you came all the way to Nashville and didn’t make an appearance on Broadway! So while you’re there, make sure to stop into Nudie's Honky Tonk, Robert’s Western World, and the newly-finished Fifth + Broadway, which is full of shops and a massive food hall with tons of local eats.

And if the live music on Broadway has inspired your vocal chords, you’ll want to try out some of the best holein-the-wall karaoke bars, such as Ms. Kelli’s, Santa’s Pub, and Lipstick Lounge. Or buy a ticket to the Listening Room Cafe to hear up-and-coming singers and songwriters in a more laid-back environment.

Once you have that covered, learn about our famed music history at the Country Music Hall of Fame or the Grand Ole Opry, and take a tour to see all of the spectacular murals for photo ops across the city. And while you’re exploring, try some of our best Tennessee brews at Bearded Iris, Jackalope, or Tennessee Brew Works.

If you get really lucky, there might even be a Predators game, a concert at the Ascend Amphitheater, or your favorite comedian might be at Zanies Comedy Club. All of these places are in central locations with tons to do nearby.

4. WHAT TO GIVE

We know party favors are making a slow exit in modern wedding trends, but here are a few ideas that you might want to hold onto!

The number one favor to greet your guests with for a destination wedding is, of course, a guide or map to where they will be spending their time with a list of recommended local restaurants or attractions. It will help them get around and easily find things to do outside of your wedding activities!

Now if you expect your wedding party or guests will be spending most of their time celebrating on Broadway, then there’s truly no better gift to give than a recovery kit. Include things like Advil, water, electrolytes, local snacks, and even fruit for an extra vitamin boost.

And if you don’t have time to create special favors, consider using locally-sourced gift boxes created by Batch Nashville. Their pre-made gift sets feature local favorites like Thistle Farms lotion, Loveless Cafe’s biscuit mix, or Daily Crunch’s amazing flavored almonds.

5. WHERE TO WED

We might be biased, but you can’t beat a Nashville wedding at one of these venues!

Both The Bell Tower and The Bridge Building are located in prime areas of downtown Nashville. The Bell Tower, once a historic church dating back to the 1870s, has been transformed into a modern, spacious event venue. Abundant natural light, exposed beams, and an upper level mezzanine make this one of the most sought after venues in all of Nashville.

And located on the riverfront, The Bridge Building is a historic downtown landmark and the top event venue in Nashville for any special occasion with many customizable areas, riverfront and rooftop patios, and an exceptional view of the city. Seriously, the view is unreal!

The Estate at Cherokee Dock is an award-winning estate just outside of Nashville with ample lush green landscapes on 15 acres of land. With various entertaining spaces, both inside and out, you can turn your vision of a perfect wedding into a reality.

The Cordelle offers historic charm and the largest downtown Nashville greenspace. Located just outside of downtown Nashville, the late Victorian home features both indoor and outdoor event space with thousands of square feet to make your own.

The Tennessee State Museum is a modern awe-inspiring venue with a spacious Grand Hall, second floor rotunda, and wrap-around veranda— all offer stunning views of downtown Nashville. Conveniently located, the Museum connects North Nashville, Germantown, and downtown, and it is easily accessible to downtown lodging and Interstate 65.

Originally built in the early 1900s, Marathon Music Works has been restored and adapted as an ideal blank space for your custom event. The versatile, open floor design is accented with exposed brick walls, a lofty steel beam ceiling, polished concrete bars, and metal chandeliers your guests will love.

If you could give one piece of advice to couples planning a wedding what would it be?

As a former Infinity bride, the best piece of advice I was given and I like to tell my couples is to always stick with your partner the night of your wedding. People are going to pull both of you in every direction throughout the night, but make sure you spend the time dedicated to you as a couple with each other.

A Q&A WITH MOLLY PETERS

EVENT COORDINATOR WITH IH

Molly grew up in a rural town in Maryland and attended a local community college to study event management and hotel lodging. As early as she can remember, Molly has always loved being creative and designing small get-togethers for friends and family, which later turned into the love she has for this industry.

In January 2021, she made the move to Nashville to begin working with us as an event coordinator. Before that, she worked for a historic venue in Maryland, managing the corporate and social events. Her attention to detail and creativity are part of what make her such an asset to our team!

Outside of work, Molly loves spending time at our local Sixty Vines with her friends and hanging with her sister. And let’s not forget her ability to sew, which is always helpful for any fashion emergencies on the big day!

Read on to learn more about Molly’s experience as an event coordinator.

What are some of the challenges you face when planning an event and how do you overcome them?

When planning an event I often have brides who overthink their vision and want to change it. I overcome this by showing them inspiration on how it will look the day-of to ensure there is no reason to overthink and their original vision is beautiful!

DON'T FORGET

FIVE TIPS FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY

In the middle of this busy wedding season, we wanted to share five things we think are important to remember on your big day!

We know, the day has finally come, and you can’t wait to kiss your partner at the end of the aisle and dance the night away after months (maybe years!) of planning. But hear us out: You will be so focused on your day that some things may slip through the cracks! So here are a few tips to keep in mind just in case.

Stay tuned each month for more ideas & advice from our professional point of view!

1. What to Bring

If you’re a traditional bride, make sure you have something old, new, borrowed, and blue safely packed and ready to go. Along with those items, you’ll want to bring anything meaningful your photographer could use for layouts and detail shots.

Additionally, pack an extra change of clothes and/or shoes in case you feel like slipping into something more comfortable at the end of the night. But hey, if you can last all day in those high heels, more power to you!

And let's not forget an emergency bag that can be easily accessible! Prep it with a first aid kit, deodorant, safety pins, 5-hour Energy, Tide To Go pen, and sample-sizes of your makeup and hair products. You name it, you might need it!

2. When to Eat

Find time before your ceremony to have a real meal. You’ll spend most of your day getting ready, capturing memories, and visiting with your guests, so sitting down to eat could easily become a forgotten thought. Feeding your body is important to keep your mind at ease, ensure you don’t feel fatigued, and most importantly, keep you from becoming too lightheaded! Trust us, no one wants to be the internet bride who passed out during their ceremony.

You might even consider planning to have snacks around while you and your wedding party get ready! Having something readily available to munch on is a game changer.

However, if you’ve been on a strict diet or eliminated certain foods, try not to indulge in those items or your body could react negatively. And stay away from drinking too much caffeine! You’ll have enough wedding day jitters without it!

3. Who to Assign

Designate members of your wedding party or someone in attendance for day-of tasks that you won’t be able to or want to have handled for you. It could be anything from keeping up with your phone and other personal items, holding your rings before the ceremony, or taking care of your bouquet when you won’t be holding it.

If you opted out of a wedding day coordinator, you should assign a point of contact for things like emergencies, your vendors, and even someone to help keep your wedding party together and where they need to be.

4. How to be Present

Your wedding day will go by in a blink, so don’t forget to be present in every moment! In order to do so, make sure to get a good night's sleep the night before so you can wake up early, journal, put on a face mask, do some yoga, or any morning routine that will help start your day off right.

Your planner will likely have a timeline already in place to keep the rest of your day in order, so relax and let them handle keeping all your ducks in a row! This way you can stay focused on getting married surrounded by your loved ones and taking in every moment.

And again, if you opted out of having a wedding day coordinator, then prepare the day’s timeline in advance so your wedding party, vendors, and anyone else involved knows what to do, where to be, and when so you can focus on yourself and your soon-to-be spouse.

And don’t forget to take a moment to breathe! It’s your wedding day; you deserve all the me-time you need.

5. What to Expect

One of the most important things to remember on your wedding day is that everything might not go as planned. It could be a minor detail or a major change, but if it is something you can’t control and your guests are still having fun, then let it slide!

Emotions will be running high because it’s such a meaningful day, so try not to worry about any issues that arise and let your planner or someone else handle it!

After all, the wedding day is about celebrating the love between you and your partner, so embrace the happy tears, don’t sweat the small stuff, and take in every moment.
