In the fall of 2020, Amber and Steven celebrated their nuptials with a whimsical, boho-inspired wedding ceremony and reception at The Bell Tower.

Amber, a professional hairstylist, met Steven’s aunt while working backstage at New York Fashion Week. After hearing about Steven’s personal training business, she gave him a call. They started spending one-on-one training time together in the gym, and the sparks flew!

Steven later proposed to Amber on the front porch of her parents’ home with her family in attendance.

For their wedding day, these two wanted a moody color palette of emerald green, navy, bronze, and dark purple. And with the help from some amazing friendors, we accomplished just that.

For the ceremony, a hexagonal arch from LMA Designs was nestled between The Bell Tower’s signature windows, while black pillar candles and greenery from Stella Rose Floral lined the aisle. For the reception whimsical arrangements, also by Stella Rose Floral, and taper candles sat atop each table with colorful linens.

When it came time for Amber to walk down the aisle, she stunned in high-neck lace gown with bell sleeves from Rue de Seine. Her stylish deep red bridal hair—which perfectly matched her florals—will definitely be going on our inspiration boards.

After the couple exchanged vows, guests made their way to the patio to snack on candied bacon and assorted bruschetta. During the reception, guests were served gourmet sliders, a variety of salads, stuffed vegetables, and more.

The bride and groom then shared their first dance to “Can’t Help Falling in Love," performed by Steven’s son.

"We heard him singing it on his karaoke machine months ago," Amber said, "and we just knew it was what we wanted to dance to."

Before the newlyweds went on their married way, guests closed out the party with Fox's Donut Den and s’mores.

CURRENTLY CRUSHING

OUR FAVORITE WEDDING CEREMONY ALTAR IDEAS

The ceremony, no matter how short, is the most important part of the day. From floral-filled arches to artfully draped chuppahs, your ceremony backdrop will set the tone for the rest of the day.

So this month, we're crushing hard on custom altars and all the ways our couples have made their ceremony their own. Scroll on for Pinterest-worthy inspiration from our real weddings!

1. Circular

We love a good circular installation. Echoes of Eden Florals took things up a notch for Caitlin + Robinson's wedding at The Bridge Building by adding a floral ring suspended over the altar.

2. Whimsical & Wild

We're all for symmetry, but this whimsical installation from Forget Me Not Designs for Alyssa + Jayson's wedding at The Bell Tower has us seriously reconsidering.

3. Geometric & Modern

Effortlessly cool, geometric shapes have made their way from table decor to front and center modern statement pieces. One of our personal favorites? LMA Designs' "Archie." See how Megan + Bravein and Fallyn + Aaron made this focal piece their own.

4. A Twist on Tradition

A symbol of the home a couple will build together, the chuppah is a perfect opportunity to personalize the altar. This whimsical custom-built chuppah by PS Designs stole the show at Sarah + Daniel's sweet spring wedding at OZ Arts Nashville.

5. Floor to Ceiling

Make a dramatic impact with a backdrop that reaches the ceiling, like Lizzy + Clayton's bright romantic altar at The Bell Tower.  J. Kent Freeman Floral Design teamed up with Nashville Lighting & Production to create this delicate focal piece.

Megan and Taylor's rustic romantic wedding at The Bell Tower was southern-inspired with a relaxed, casual feel.

The pair met at William & Mary college where sparks flew. Their relationship went the distance when Megan lived in New York and Taylor in D.C. Shortly after, they moved to Nashville on a whim to begin their lives together.

Even though the pair now live in Philadelphia, they knew they wanted to make it official right here in Nashville where their lives finally merged.

They envisioned a fun, stress-free destination wedding with a glowing cocktail hour feel carried throughout the day. With that in mind, we couldn't wait to get started!

The day began with an intimate first look at Up, A Rooftop Lounge, which had the couple grinning from ear to ear. Megan radiated joy in a gorgeous off-the-shoulder lace dress as she carried an overflowing bouquet. And we loved Taylor's elegant navy tuxedo jacket too. Kudos to our ultra-stylish grooms!

After pictures with the rest of the wedding party, everyone made their way to The Bell Tower to kick off the festivities where rustic romance was the name of the game.

A custom greenery ring by Forget Me Not Designs was suspended from the beams to mark the altar. Sprigs of greenery lined the aisle as Megan made her grand entrance escorted by her mom.

Following, guests made their way to the patio for cocktail hour as the main space was transformed for the reception. The couple chose two signature cocktails to honor their precious pups and we're obsessed! Guests sipped Tom the Dog Collins' and Palmer's Punch made with vodka, St. Germain, lime juice, lemonade, a splash of champagne and a pink rock candy garnish.

And since we don't ever suggest drinking on an empty stomach, plenty of light bites were served as well. Including southern favorites like fried green tomatoes, mini chicken and waffles, and mini pulled pork sliders.

The reception space was washed with soft ambient lighting by Infinity's production team with ivory linens and navy napkins from Music City Tents for a classic southern look.

After mixing and mingling, guests were seated for dinner, where balsamic grape and apple salads with cornbread and honey butter were already waiting. They perused the buffet for entrees including chef-carved slow roasted prime rib with grilled asparagus and and rosemary roasted fingerling potatoes. Buttermilk fried chicken and four cheese macaroni was also up for grabs.

For dessert, our donut lovers just couldn't help but include a custom wooden donut wall into their day. With an assortment of donuts by none other than Fox's Donut Den, of course!

When it was time to say goodnight, Megan and Taylor's nearest and dearest wished them well as they exited through a tunnel of sparklers.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE BELL TOWER https://infinityhospitalitygroup.com/the-bell-tower-then-and-now/ Thu, 16 Aug 2018 17:06:01 +0000 http://blog.infinityeventsandcatering.com/?p=9785 A brief history of the historic building now famously known as The Bell Tower.

THE BELL TOWER

A SLICE OF HISTORICAL HEAVEN
Historical Photo of The Bell Tower

Amidst bustling downtown Nashville, The Bell Tower sits pretty and proudly on the corner of 4th Avenue South and Korean Veterans Boulevard.

Built in 1874, The Bell Tower was one of the first churches built by freed slaves after the Civil War.

Following the abolition of slavery, many Americans reveled in newfound freedom; and this resulted in a massive missionary effort in the south.

Consequently, this effort financed new churches and schools, and new denominations were created. Including the African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E).

In what is now SoBro and the home of The Bell Tower, was once called Black Bottom. The 5-block radius got its name from the black mud and flooding of filthy water caused in part by the Cumberland River and in part by Wilson Spring Branch, a creek that was later bricked over as a sewer.

Most of the surrounding neighborhood was destroyed after World War II, and we're proud to say that The Bell Tower is one of the last original structures of Black Bottom still standing in downtown Nashville.

On June 17, 1874, construction began on a brand new Saint Paul A.M.E. Church at the corner of what was then Cherry Street and Franklin Street.

At 3 p.m., around 1500 people gathered to witness the laying of the cornerstone. Many traveled from Murfreesboro and Shelbyville just to partake in the celebration.

A marching band joyfully marched from Cedar Street through Summer to Demonbreun and back again.

Hymns could be heard coming from the ceremonial service, and a prayer was held in the adjoining building where the church was to be built.

A few decades and more than a few new faces later, here we are!

The Bell Tower has since been transformed into a breathtaking, contemporary event venue for just about any kind of social gathering or celebration.

Formerly home to EOA Architects, the space is now full of natural southern light with a spacious open floor plan allowing for a multitude of possibilities.

The original exposed beams and downstairs stonework still remain, thus keeping the character and historic charm of the venue still intact. We even kept the original sub-flooring, which contains salvaged wood from homes destroyed during the war.

Meanwhile, a towering staircase leads to a spacious mezzanine. This bonus space is perfect for another bar or extra seating with a perfect bird's eye view of the happenings below.

Our awesome production squad is ready and able to set the tone of any event with all the latest gadgets and completely customizable lighting options. Some of our favorites include paper lanterns, string lights, a custom floral ring and our stunning collection of chandeliers.

So, envisioning cocktail hour on an air-conditioned patio in the middle of July? Done, and done. Maybe a personalized gobo to represent your brand? No sweat, we can project any monogram, logo or design onto the walls or even the floor! And the options don't stop there.

The Bell Tower Floor Plan

Pro tip: The mezzanine is the best spot in the house for photographers to perfectly capture first dances, speeches and other memorable moments from above!

And for bonus points? The Tasting Room is located within the actual bell tower and is available for hourly rental.

Impeccably designed, bottles line the walls and striking modern chandeliers hang from above. Guests are invited to sample local favorites and lesser-known distillery spirits from a selection of over 100 hand-picked bourbons, whiskey and scotch. Because when in Nashville, do as the Honky Tonkers do! That's the saying, right?

Above all, we love seeing our innovative clients and talented staff work together to create unforgettable experiences and endless memories at The Bell Tower.

From intimate rehearsal dinners to romantic weddings, to music showcases and not-so-average corporate events, no event is left behind. And we can't wait to see more of what the future holds!

Alyssa and Jayson met through mutual friends. Both Tennessee natives, Jayson popped the question on the rooftop of the Thompson Hotel at L.A. Jackson. This sweet pair wanted their summer wedding at The Bell Tower to be an all-encompassing celebration of their union in a fun, casual atmosphere. It was just that and even better.

The couple chose a classic, minimal color palette of white and ivory. While subtle gold accents added a touch of glam to their romantic southern wedding. Lush sprigs of greenery from Forget Me Not Designs were placed in virtually every corner of the venue. This pop of color perfectly complemented the historic, dark wooden beams above.

Alyssa stunned in an off-the-shoulder Pronovias gown with illusion lace sleeves, sweet button detailing and a dramatic, sweeping train from The White Room Lebanon. She carried a loose-style bouquet primarily filled with greenery and a few white blooms delicately in between.

The couple started their day by sharing a private first look at Fort Negley Park. After letting it all sink in, they made their way to The Bell Tower. Their intimate ceremony between the venue's beloved windows caused more than a few not-so-dry eyes.

Following the ceremony, guests sipped on the couple's signature cocktail, the Moscow mule, and enjoyed an impressive selection of hors d'oeuvres. Candied bacon, margherita flatbread, candied bacon deviled eggs, mini chicken and waffles, mini pulled pork biscuit sliders and jumbo shrimp cocktail shooters were all up for grabs.

For dinner, a variety of hearty food stations were ready and waiting. These included a trio of salads, classic sliders with french fry shooters and gourmet macaroni and cheese. And as if that wasn't enough, Infinity's chef-manned Tennessee Food Truck was serving up mouth-watering southern favorites. Grilled cheese sandwiches, street tacos and hot chicken sliders, oh my!

For dessert and in honor of National Donut Day (which was celebrated the day before) the couple opted for our cinnamon sugar donut station. Delicious accompanying toppings included bourbon salted caramel and chai whipped cream. Not to mention, guests couldn't help but swoon over a gorgeous three-tiered pink and white marbled cake with gold foil detailing by Copper Whisk Cakes.

Full of love and donuts, guests ventured to the Tasting Room at their leisure to sample a selection of specialty bourbons.

The evening wrapped up with a late-night sparkler send-off on 4th Avenue South. Alyssa and Jayson were beaming from ear to ear as they shared one last kiss and departed as newlyweds.

Congratulations to this stunning couple!
