Madding and Brooks celebrated their marriage with an elegant wedding day starting at the First Presbyterian Church in Nashville and ending at The Bell Tower, which was filled with refined style, lots of florals, and New Year’s celebrations!

Both Madding and Brooks went to the University of Auburn but didn’t meet until attending a mutual friend's wedding after graduation in 2017. Although they ultimately had a connection, they didn’t start dating until that following fall when they ran into each other again at an Auburn football game. When you know, you know!

Brooks later surprised Madding while she was working a photoshoot of her pastor. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him!

When it came to planning the big day, Madding knew she wanted a refined classic look with lots of flowers, and we think, with the help of our team, they hit it on the nail! She also said it was most important to find just the right venue, have a great band, and capture the day perfectly.

They started the weekend with a rehearsal dinner at the Bridge Building. The space was set with a head table in navy linens with three round tables in white, all with gold chiavari chairs and tall centerpieces full of greenery, white flowers, and pops of red blooms. Our in-house chefs prepared a custom tapas stations with a lamb loin with mushroom risotto and broccolini, smoked gouda grits with shrimp, and beef tenderloin with potato gratin and brussel sprouts. Guests then celebrated with a cake by Dessert Designs.

On her wedding day, Madding stunned in a classic off-the-shoulder ball gown with a cascading white bouquet of orchids and peonies. Her bridesmaids had matching green velvet dresses and bouquets of greenery with champagne ribbons tied around the stems. As for Brooks and his groomsmen, they rocked classic black tuxedos with white boutonnieres.

After saying “I do” at First Presbyterian Church, the wedding party took a trolley over to The Bell Tower and enjoyed a pepper jelly pimento cheese bruschetta bite and a gimlet named after the couple’s dog Teddy before finding their seats in the main space.

The main space was transformed into an elegant and romantic dream, full of cascading drapery, glamorous chandeliers above, and abundant candles on every table to create a warm ambiance. The grand floral arrangements filled the room with whimsical greenery and white blooms with pops of pastel blue, purple, and pink. The flowers served as the table centerpieces but also lined the white stage facade, decorated the grand staircase, and draped across their white six-tiered wedding cake.

While Madding and Brooks shared a private meal together, their guests dined on a stationed dinner with different kinds of risotto, salad, roasted vegetables, and mashed potatoes, and later had a late night snack of gourmet french fries and quesadillas.

Before the clock struck midnight, Madding and Brooks cut their cake, shared a sweet first dance, and passed out their party hats! Guests counted down to the new year and everyone celebrated with silver streamers, beads, and all the fun as a live band played to celebrate the newlyweds.

Last spring, Claire and Zac had a timeless wedding at The Bridge Building with a gorgeous riverfront ceremony and reception full of blue details.

Claire, from Illinois, and Zac, from Ohio, began their relationship after meeting at the company where they both work, LogoBrands. They dated for one year and got engaged the following winter!

When it came to planning the big day, it was important to them that their guests had a good time and the day ran as smoothly as possible.

The couple could hardly wait to say their “I dos.” On May 1, 2021, Claire wore a classic white gown with a deep v neckline and timeless updo. She held a bouquet of all white blooms with sprigs of greenery as she walked down the aisle to her now husband Zac, who was dressed in a sleek navy suit with a matching tie.

For the ceremony, the pair exchanged their vows on The Bridge Building’s riverfront patio, decorated with a wooden cross adorned with floral arrangements and an unbeatable view of Downtown Nashville.

After they were pronounced husband and wife, our team prepared the main space for dinner stations of gourmet sliders and other delectable in-house selections. The reception was set with blue table linens, ivory centerpieces, cascading spring lights, and vintage-inspired marquee letters of Claire and Zac’s initials!

The newlyweds later shared their first dance to “Beautiful Crazy” by Luke Combs before dancing the night away.

When it was time to send off the bride and groom, guests made a tunnel of white shakers under the pedestrian bridge, which was only appropriate for the major Bama fan that Zac is, of course.

BLOSSOMING TRENDS

OUR FAVORITE UNIQUE FLORALS

Inspired by the latest wedding trends of 2021, we wanted to dive a little deeper into one of our current crushes — unique florals.

From fluffy pampas grass to breaking the tradition of white and green, flowers can be an essential part of creating a design for any event. They are influential to setting the mood and adding a little (or a whole lotta!) personality.

Stay tuned for what wedding trends we're currently crushing and scroll on for Pinterest-worthy floral inspiration from our real weddings!

1. Pampas

First up is, of course, the beloved pampas grass that we have all seen take over weddings. Whether it’s fluffed or dried, neutral or painted, pampas stands tall among other traditional wedding florals.

In a bouquet, centerpiece, or floating install, pampas makes a dramatic impact with minimal effort, and there are countless ways to incorporate it into your wedding day.

Like Lauren + Michael and Courtney + Dalton’s weddings featured below, pampas grass was incorporated into their ceremony decor to dress up the altar on the rooftop of the Bridge Building.

2. Tropical

We’re seeing so many themes this year, and one of the biggest? Tropical!

The bright greens and bold flowers of the tropics have inspired our brides to create striking bouquets and floral arrangements, with palm leaves and protea taking center stage.

Abi + Jeffrey used tropical greenery for her bouquet, to line the aisle of their ceremony, and in centerpieces to carry the tropical vibes into the reception.

3. Dried

Dried flowers are definitely in the spotlight! From the decor to the bouquet, they are a great way to break from tradition and add some texture to your arrangements.

Not to mention, dried florals can amplify both a modern and romantic style, be a little more eco-friendly, more cost-effective, and they will last forever!

Courtney + Dalton used dried flowers in the groom’s boutonniere and wedding decor like Chelsey + Parker‘s dried thistle centerpieces.

4. Alternative

Not into florals? No biggie! Go the alternative route with full greenery. Potted cacti or magnolia leaves create a foam-free design with just as much of an impact on the overall look and feel of your wedding.

You can take this alternative design to frame your altar, line your tables, or create a photo backdrop!

And on the practical side, you could use the potted plant decor as party favors or take them home to plant in your yard as a lasting memory.

5. Color

After 2020, we’re all looking to have a little more fun. Why not express that through your color palette? Big, bright blooms are making their way through every season, and we bet 2021 won’t be the end of it.

From monochromatic floral arrangements to including every shade in the color wheel, you can expect to see a lot more couples opting out of the traditional white and green arrangements for more mood-boosting designs.

Julia + Ivan’s wedding was simple and classic, but her sunset-inspired florals created a perfect pop of bright color with soft orange, pinks, and peach blooms.

BLOOMING INTO SUMMER

OUR FAVORITE SUMMER WEDDING FLOWERS

As we jump into the new season, we wanted to kick it off with some of our favorite summer wedding flowers!

From bridal bouquets to reception centerpieces, florals are an essential part of any wedding. It is important to pay attention to which flowers are in season and which are not to get the freshest look and, not to mention, the biggest bang for your buck!

Keep scrolling for a round-up of our favorite summer wedding flowers from real weddings.

1. Sunflowers

First and foremost, we have the beloved sunflower at the top of the list!

This bright yellow floral brings light to any arrangement. Take a peak at how Marie and Samantha incorporated this fun pop of color into their wedding day.

2. Sea Holly

More commonly known as blue thistles, sea holly adds a touch of whimsy to any arrangement. With such a unique look, this bloom is a standout addition to any summer or fall wedding.

Forget Me Not Designs helped Kelley + Nate incorporate these eccentric perennials into their vintage-inspired Fourth of July wedding, while Rose Hill Flowers placed them in bouquets for Lauren + Grant's classic summer wedding.

3. Hydrangeas

Hydrangeas effortlessly add dimension and fill any arrangement with an extra soft touch. Whether entwined with greenery or on their own, we love how they bring elegance into any space.

Varying hues of blush and ivory hydrangeas set the scene for Ashley + Justin's ultra-romantic summer wedding at The Bridge Building, while all white arrangements for Amanda + Hunter's chic wedding at The Bell Tower created a classic, timeless atmosphere.

4. Garden Roses

These many-petaled, cupped blooms are larger and lusher than standard roses, making them a good substitute for the out-of-season peony.

Bonus? Roses are said to thrive in hot, humid weather. They open up to the sun and can handle hot temperatures with grace.

Garden roses from LMA Designs added a romantic vibe to Maddie + Johnny's sweet summer wedding at The Bridge Building. They also help add dimension, as seen in Amy's show-stopping bouquet by Haute Flower Boutique for her pup-inspired wedding.

5. Zinnias

Zinnias add a burst of color to any event. Varying in color and size, this floral is extremely versatile and can create stunning looks that stand out from traditional arrangements.

These buds flourish in the summer and are actually one of the easiest flowers to grow if you want to test your green thumb.

Fun fact: The zinnia was the first flower to grow aboard the International Space Station. That's right, zinnias can grow and blossom in microgravity!

Anne and Michael's lush spring wedding at The Bridge Building Event Spaces was reminiscent of a garden party.

Hues of pink, taupe, coral, and ivory brought the industrial space to life. While fresh spring florals from Enchanted Florist brought the outside in.

The day began with a breezy rooftop ceremony followed by cocktail hour on the riverfront. Guests delighted in key west crab cakes, bacon wrapped shrimp, fried mac and cheese and more.

After mixing and mingling, dinner was served. Entrees included bourbon glazed salmon and filet with red wine demi-glace, grilled asparagus and rosemary roasted new potatoes.

With satisfied stomachs, guests headed back to the rooftop for dancing.

As their parting gift, family and friends were encouraged to take a cookie or two in celebration of Anne and Michael.

Allison and Ryan successfully created the stunning and stylish fall wedding of their dreams. The Bell Tower glowed with deep, rich eggplant and purple undertones offset with warm amber lighting. Their vision brought elegance and a subtle sparkle & shine to the venue.

During the reception, Ryan shared the stage with their band which turned out to be one of the best parts of the evening. He wrote and produced a song for Allison and debuted it with the help of Guilty Pleasures. It was fantastic - exactly how to get everyone up and out of their seats!

The entire night flowed beautifully, as the couple opted to skip most of the traditional wedding activities such as first dances, cake cutting, and bouquet toss. This night was created with their guests in mind. Allison and Ryan wanted everyone to relax, drink, eat, and have a good time.

Andy and Kevin celebrated their nuptials with a whimsical summer wedding ceremony and reception at The Bell Tower.

Enchanted Florist helped express the couple's bohemian and eclectic style with striking whimsical arrangements featuring sea holly, garden roses, hypericum berries, and greenery. Delicate arrangements sat atop each reception table and whimsical greenery in vintage bottles decorated the patio.

After a beautiful ceremony between the windows, guests headed to the patio for cocktail hour. While our team flipped the main space for the reception, they snacked on bites like ahi tuna baskets, spicy sesame chicken, and tasty summer rolls by the venue's in-house catering team.

Following cocktail hour, guests made their way to the main space for dinner, speeches, and dancing. Dinner stations included a Thai station with veggie yakisoba noodles, chicken pad Thai, and Asian pork sliders.

For dessert, guests satisfied their sweet teeth with a decadent spread of cakes from Dulce Desserts with flavors like lemon cake with raspberry and vanilla buttercream and almond cake with salted caramel buttercream and ganache.
