We loved helping Vanderbilt University host a VIP dinner experience for their top donors to kick off the 2022 homecoming week.

For the design, we collaborated with Forget Me Not Designs, Nashville Lighting and Production, BBJ Linens, Please Be Seated, and White Door Events to create an inviting space with black and gold in honor of the school colors. The main space was set with mixed seating of comfortable lounge booths and modern gold chairs with all black linens and retro signage. Modern Sputnik pendant lights hung from the industrial beams of The Bridge Building, and bright arrangements of red and purple blooms sat atop each table.

Beginning with cocktail hour, guests were treated to top notch wine selections and a riverfront bar that overlooked all of downtown Nashville. While mixing and mingling, they snacked on ahi tuna, butternut goat cheese stuffed mushroom, braised short rib, antipasto skewers, and more.

So what else was on the menu for this Vanderbilt VIP dinner? Filet mignon in a red wine demi-glace with a crab cake addition and grilled asparagus and truffled pommel puree, followed by an assortment of plated desserts such as mini strawberry pretzel icebox pie, sea salt caramel cake, and, of course, a Nashville favorite— house-made Goo Goo Clusters. Talk about bon appétit!

Guests enjoyed live performances during the evening and, when they were ready to stretch their legs, they made their way to the main patio. The space was set with red drapery, string lights, and lounge areas— perfect for good company and conversation.

CURRENTLY CRUSHING

How to Incorporate Velvet into Your Wedding

Inspired by the latest wedding trends, we wanted to dive a little deeper into one of our current crushes — all things velvet.

When it comes to adding a touch of luxury and sophistication to your wedding, few fabrics can rival the timeless elegance of velvet. Its soft texture, rich colors, and luxurious sheen make it a perfect choice for couples looking to infuse their special day with opulence and romance. From bridal details to reception linens, with velvet, you can mix and match your attire and decor to fit any style including elegant, boho, vintage, tuscan, and even modern design.

Whether you’re planning a lavish affair or a more intimate gathering, here are seven stunning ways to incorporate velvet into your wedding:

1.THE DETAILS

We’ve never turned away from even the smallest detail, so why start now! If you’re having a fall or winter wedding, velvet is the perfect staple texture for your day. And if you’re not a huge fan of it, hear us out.

Set the tone by incorporating velvet accents into your invitations and stationery. Opt for velvet-lined envelopes, velvet ribbon embellishments, or even velvet-covered invitation suites for a touch of tactile luxury that will leave a lasting impression on your guests.

Add a touch of softness and sophistication to your floral arrangements by incorporating velvet elements. Wrap your bouquet stems in velvet ribbon in a coordinating color or incorporate velvet blooms such as velvet roses or ranunculus for a romantic and textural contrast. And if that feels like too much, a velvet-bound guest book or velvet ring box are even smaller ways to incorporate the trendy fabric—and those can seem like unimportant additions, but they will always take your style the extra mile.

2.BRIDE STYLE

Embrace the luxe feel of velvet by incorporating it into your bridal attire. No, we’re not saying go find an ivory velvet gown (unless you want to), but think about the rest of your wedding day attire!

One of our past brides, Amber, opted for green velvet booties for her boho wedding day at The Bell Tower, and we are obsessed. If booties aren’t for you, there are some stunning open and closed-toe bridal heels in velvet, too.

And don’t forget about the accessories! Headbands, gloves, a winter shrug, a post-ceremony outfit with a velvet jacket… the list goes on.

3.LINENS

Looking for that warm, moody vibe on your big day? Think velvet linens! Even if it’s a few accent tables, maybe just your sweetheart table, velvet tablecloths are both beautiful and cozy for seasonal decor.

Using velvet as a table runner, or even napkins at each place setting can also add depth and texture to your tablescape.

4.SEATING

One of our favorite ways to include this trendy texture is with your seating!

Opt for vintage velvet chairs at your sweetheart table, a sofa for a photo booth, or try a lounge area during the reception with velvet loveseats and ottomans. If an entire piece of furniture isn’t quite your vibe, velvet throw pillows would also be a nice touch.

Photography by Erin Fox Photo, Sabrina Englehart, and Kailee Rose

5.GROOM ATTIRE

Some grooms may have difficulty finding ways to spruce up their classic suit and tie, but we know just the thing: velvet!

Grooms can also get in on the trend with velvet tuxedos or velvet bow ties for a dapper finishing touch. There are smaller details grooms can incorporate, too, such as a suit with a velvet lapel, velvet pocket square, or ribbon added to a boutonniere.

6.DRAPING

Infuse your wedding décor with touches of velvet to create a romantic and luxurious atmosphere. Velvet drapery might seem like it could be too heavy, but trust us, it’s quite the opposite. From creating an intimate feel in an open space, to adding a sense of luxury, velvet drapes will add to your design.

Brittany and Brandon wanted an intimate feel for their modern ceremony at The Bell Tower so they had black velvet draping added in front of the arched windows.

Photography by Ali Bonomo, Caitlin Steva, and Details Nashville

7.BRIDESMAIDS

Last but not least, velvet bridesmaid dresses are one of the most stylish ways to add this trend into your cooler wedding day!

Velvet dresses look chic and elegant while adding a romantic cozy vibe to your fall or winter wedding day. They’re a beautiful way to incorporate your wedding’s colors, too.

Brittany and Brandon, former Infinity team members, returned to Nashville to say “I do” at the Bell Tower with a moody, southern wedding we are still dreaming about.

This sweet pair met almost 11 years ago in their freshman dorm at Ohio State University and haven’t been apart since. Brandon asked Brittany to be his girlfriend outside of the OSU football stadium, so what better way to propose than in the same spot 10 years later after a stroll down Buckeye Grove!

Brittany was never one for surprises, but she said he handled this one well with a secret photographer and brunch with their family and friends right after. “It was extremely thoughtful and really special,” she shared with us.

After college, Brittany moved to Music City and began working for Infinity as a sales specialist before branching out in the event planning world. Not long after, Brandon followed her move and joined our logistics team. At the time, the Bell Tower was still in the process of becoming what it is today, but when Brittany first laid eyes on it, she knew something was meant to be. But after four years, the pair decided to make the move back to Ohio.

With Brittany's family in Ohio and Brandon's in Minneapolis, they wanted to find a central location for their family and friends to celebrate their big day. So with help from their previous work experience with us (and a little nudge from our sales director Bubba), they decided on a destination wedding in... Nashville!

“It only felt natural for our Nashville wedding to be at the same place that brought me (and eventually Brandon) to Tennessee in the first place,” Brittany said. And we can’t help but agree!

So when the big day finally came, the Bell Tower was dressed in black velvet drapery, magnolia leaf arrangements, and dim lighting that made the space oh so intimate.

Brittany and Brandon opted out of a wedding party but made sure to include a first look before the ceremony.

“For us, the first look made our day all [the] more special and allowed us to soak in more time and moments together,” Brittany told us. “When it came time to walk down the aisle, I had exciting nerves but felt calm waiting to come down the stairs and, yes, he still shed a tear (even after spending the afternoon together).”

During the ceremony, they participated in a candle lighting unity ceremony with their friends and family in attendance. As each guest lit the candle next to them and the lights in the Bell Tower dimmed, Brittany and Brandon stood at the altar to take in the unique moment they will never forget.

Afterward, guests participated in a traditional cocktail hour before sitting down to enjoy a delectable meal of honey balsamic chicken with roasted heirloom carrots and white cheddar mashed potatoes, butter poached day boat fish with crispy kale and caramelized shallot and brown butter polenta, and red wine short rib with grilled asparagus and tri-colored potato gratin.

Brittany and Brandon shared their first dance to “Better Together” by Luke Combs and ended the night with our famous candied bacon, followed by a moment alone in the Bell Tower’s Tasting Room.

Q&A

With Brittany

How was your experience working on the other side of Infinity as a bride?

The best ever. I had no doubts we were in great hands—way more than one pair, by the way! From Bubba in sales, to Haven in operations, Taylor in catering, and your ENTIRE planning and coordinator team… you get your own personal army at Infinity and I can't say enough about how helpful everyone in each department was. There is truly something to be said about the Infinity experience. Safe to say we got to fully experience the magic!

And as a planner?

As a planner myself, I help brides make decisions for their own wedding days all year long, but when it came to wedding decisions for myself - I struggled occasionally! Keeping a steady vision was effortful at times. Cassidy and Kacey gave me the creative space I needed but stepped in with advice at all the right times to help generate the ambience Brandon and I were hoping for. They were there to ensure all our details were close-circle and I was so thankful for that.

How did you decide to incorporate a unity ceremony into the day?

Brandon and I wanted a unique way to involve all of our friends and family in our ceremony. Growing up, I loved attending the Christmas Eve service at my church. Everyone would light a small taper candle from the person sitting next to them as the last hymn, Silent Night, was sung in unison. The lit candle was held in the air and the lights would fully dim. It has always been one of my favorite feelings—full of warmth, peace, and joy. When discussing our ceremony details, Brandon and I agreed we wanted to recreate that feeling. The moment was tied to our wedding as a unity ceremony - 'whenever light becomes dull, Brittany and Brandon will remember this moment and all the love and light you have given to them throughout their lives to help them find brighter days.' Special thanks to Ryan Fine who blessed us with playing piano and singing Stand By Me as Brandon and I lit the candles of all inner aisle guests and those guests lit the candles of those sitting next to them.

Any tips for future brides, now that you have been on both sides of the planning process?

As a bride, take a private moment at the reception with your partner - find a corner, take a trip to the mezzanine - and take it all in by yourselves for a few moments. Look at your décor, at the room, at your loved ones, watch the hard working staff, watch your guests have a great time... take a second to just 'see' everything you have been working towards come together in real time! Also, if you are on the fence, do the first look. My husband said one of his favorite moments of the day is when he and I got to take photos by ourselves. It was important to us to have that time together - the day goes by super fast and at least half of it you spend apart.

Any tips for fellow planners planning their own weddings?

This is probably easier said than done, but honestly, do your best to trust the process. The Infinity team will never let you fail or miss something. Not everything has to happen at once - it will all get done. Have patience and grace in the planning process with yourself and your vendor team.

How did your event team provide support while navigating planning a wedding during a pandemic?

We could not be more thankful to have had the support of Infinity during that uncelebrated time. We were grateful for the option and opportunity to continue with our wedding plans as is, but of course, keeping within the restrictions. The staff, managers, and all vendors involved really pulled through for us to make it all possible while keeping everyone safe. Extra special thank you to our friends and family - if it were not for their encouragement and support in our decision to proceed with our wedding in January 2021, it would not have happened. We appreciate all the efforts to have made that day so special. Regardless of the restrictions and rules in place, our day was not hindered, our guests had the greatest night and WE had the best. day. ever.

Chelsea and Scott tied the knot with a chic, romantic summer wedding ceremony and reception at The Bridge Building.

This sweet pair met through mutual friends a few years ago and undoubtedly hit it off. Scott later proposed to Chelsea on the rooftop deck of their new home—their favorite place to be—during an intimate gathering with two of their best friends.

When it came time to choose their dream venue, Chelsea and Scott felt at home on the rooftop of The Bridge Building, and they loved having the view of the city. Chelsea later explained “Scott was sold as soon as we toured it," and we can’t blame him!

Before their traditional ceremony, the pair shared their most memorable moment: the first look! It was intimate and emotional for both of them It also helped calm their wedding day nerves.

Once the two said their “I dos,” guests made their way to the Cumberland space for the reception. Tables were set with summer florals, gold tea light candles, and acrylic table numbers.

Soon after guests found their seats, they were served plated meals of delectable selections like maple mustard glazed chicken with yellow squash and whipped potatoes, smoked brisket with grilled corn and four-cheese macaroni, and bourbon-glazed salmon with grilled asparagus and parmesan risotto.

After dinner, Chelsea and Scott kicked off the party with their first dance as the DJ played the song “Blessed” by one of their favorite artists, Thomas Rhett.

And instead of a traditional send-off at the end of the night, the newlyweds invited their friends over to their house to continue the celebration.

Rachel and Trey celebrated New Year's Eve with a wedding ceremony and reception at The Bell Tower in downtown Nashville.

Although they are both Nashville natives, these two actually met in Uganda while working with Heal Ministries. When Trey popped the question, they were overlooking the Nile River on a hill by their home, which was similar to how they spent their first-ever date together.

Once they returned to Nashville, the wedding festivities quickly began.

Since Rachel and Trey were both away for a year, it was important for them to have an incredible time with their friends and family. And they did just that!

The wedding day began with a sweet first look outside of The Bell Tower. Rachel stunned in her gown with ivory roses in her hair.

After a meaningful ceremony, guests took to the patio for signature cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres while our team flipped the main space for dinner.

Once the reception was set with black linens and candle light, guests found their seats. The whimsical arch which set the scene for the ceremony was used again to frame the sweetheart table.

For the wedding toasts, our team passed glasses of champagne— because what else would you sip on to celebrate newlyweds on New Year Eve's? Afterward, Rachel and Trey made their way to the dance floor to "L-O-V-E" by Nat King Cole, later ending the night with "Dance With Somebody" by Whitney Houston. Safe to say it was a fun night of dancing!

Before sending these two off through a tunnel of sparklers, guests grabbed a pottery mug created by the women from Heal Ministries in Uganda. What a unique and meaningful gift!

Rustic cross back chairs from Mayker Events, subtle textured linens from BBJ Linen, and string lights from Nashville Lighting & Production helped set the scene for this chic dinner, while towering candles and sweet sprigs of greenery by LMA Designs were placed on each table for added style.

As guests arrived for cocktail hour, they snacked on dreamy hors d'oeuvres from Dream Events & Catering. These included mac n' cheese bites, shrimp n' grits bites, caprese skewers, and more.

Guests were then treated to a plated dinner with selections like lemon rosemary chicken and bourbon glazed salmon. Yum! And you can't forget dessert. With confections like mini key lime pies, cheesecake bites, and RC Moon Pie shooters, there was no sweet tooth left unsatisfied.

For the design, we collaborated with LMA Designs, Nashville Lighting & Production, BBJ Linens, Please Be Seated, and White Door Events to create an inviting space with orange and gray tones in honor of the company's colors.

Comfortable lounge areas were set on the side patio with fun patterned linens, while the main space was set with farm tables and chic linen dining chairs. Modern geometric pendant lights hung from the industrial beams of The Bridge Building and bright arrangements of protea sat atop each table.

Beginning with cocktail hour, guests were treated to margaritas and a bourbon tasting bar. While mixing and mingling, they snacked on candied bacon, shrimp and grits, hot chicken bites, and pepper jelly pimento cheese bruschetta.

So what else was on the menu? Nashville Southern classics with a steakhouse twist. Guests chose from three delectable plates, including hanger steak, sweet tea marinated chicken, and pan-seared sea bass with sides like thyme roasted heirloom carrots and goat cheese polenta. Talk about bon appétit!

BRING IT TO THE TABLE

OUR FAVORITE PATTERNED LINENS

Linens are an essential part of any event and instantly set the scene from the minute your guests arrive. Your tables are where a lot of the main action goes down, so you'll want to take the opportunity to have a little fun and really make them shine!

There to protect furniture from stains and spills, linens are not only aesthetically pleasing but functional as well. Available in endless colors, patterns, fabrics, and sizes, we love seeing which ones our clients pick and how they contribute to their overall design, no matter the vibe.

While our linen love is always strong, we're currently crushing on stylish patterned prints. We love that they bring even more depth and dimension to the table — pun most definitely intended.

Scroll on to get inspired by some of our favorite patterned linens from real weddings.

1. Printed Napkins

Not a fan of throwing linens on every table? Let your furniture speak for itself and add a patterned accent napkin for simple, no-fuss style.

From French country inspired napkins provided by La Tavola Linen to black and white gingham napkins from Liberty Party Rental, the options are endless.

The post NICOLE + CHRIS’ ROMANTIC GLAM WEDDING appeared first on Infinity Hospitality.

]]>

New York City dwellers Nicole and Chris envisioned a romantic glam wedding at The Bell Tower. With gold touches, soft blush florals, and flickering candlelight, we're happy to say that the end result was all that and then some!

After get off work late one night, Nicole arrived home to flowers on the table and a pizza on the stove. "I put on my PJs and was pretty far into a pepperoni slice when Chris walked into the room, put on 'I Wanna Grow Old With You' from The Wedding Singer, and got down on one knee," Nicole told us. "I never wanted a big proposal. He knows my favorite place is at home and New York pizza is the best! It was perfect for us and a wonderful memory."

As planning began, they knew they wanted a destination wedding to make travel easier for their families. "Once we decided on Nashville, we started researching wedding venues," Nicole said. "We toured The Bridge Building and The Bell Tower, but once we walked into The Bell Tower, our minds were made up. It's gorgeous, open and everything we wanted in a space."

Starting with a bright ceremony between the windows on a perfect spring afternoon, there wasn't a dry eye in the house as Nicole began her walk down the aisle with her dad by her side.

"It was really important to include my father into our day as much as possible," Nicole told us. "He is eight years into his diagnosis with Alzheimer’s, and at the rehearsal, I just wasn’t sure he’d be able to stick it out. But all the stars aligned and at the wedding, my father walked me down the aisle, danced with me and was involved in everything he could. My heart was just so full and happy. It made the day complete and so full of love." Can someone please pass us a Costco sized box of Kleenex, stat?

Afterward, cocktail hour kicked off on the patio while the couple snuck off to take a few photos. Guests enjoyed candied bacon and southern favorites like jumbo shrimp cocktail shooters, mini chicken and waffles, and southern BLTs.

Meanwhile back inside, the space was transformed for an unapologetically romantic reception filled with florals.

A long wooden farm table created a statement-making focal point beneath the windows. While petal pink linens paired perfectly with metallic silver linens from BBJ Linen. Fluffy florals and geometric terrarium centerpieces by LMA Designs sat atop each table.

As guests took their seats for dinner, balsamic grape and apple salads began the meal. Entrees served included sweet tea marinated chicken, peppercorn filets with prawns and house-smoked brisket. Yum!

For dessert, Nicole surprised Chris with a jaw-dropping, colorful confectionary creation by Monica Petrone. Which included a custom topper and even a Van Halen fondant cassette tape!

"Monica also made 200 cupcakes in five different flavors that were boxed with stickers on them for our guests to take home," Nicole told us. "They were beautiful and insanely delicious!"
